NEC Display Solutions in the USA has just announced three cinema digital projectors with three levels of brightness for screens of up to 105 foot wide. The projectors are due to reach the UK market by November 2009.

The line-up of new NEC projectors includes:

NC1200C with an NEC projector lamp producing 9,000 lumens to a  screen which is a maximum of 46 feet wide and 17,000 ANSI lumens for a screen of 65 feet wide.

NC2000C with an NEC projector lamp capable of producing 17,000 lumens to a screen which is a maximum of 65 feet wide.

NC3200S providing an NEC projector lamp capable of 31,000 lumens to a screen which is a maximum of 105 feet wide.

The new NEC projectors are part of their new Digital Cinema Projector Series and meet the requirements of Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI).

The NEC internal MediaBlock is optional and with NEC storage server is able to deliver a complete industry solution for producing digital movies.

The new NEC Digital Cinema Projector Series also works with a current cinema server through a legacy board.

These projectors have been fitted with a dual airflow design which minimises dust and is able to segregate the NEC projector bulb from the projector’s other components, producing a much better long term solution to maintenance and reliability.

NEC is the first and only projector brand to have delivered cutting edge dual airflow to protect the lamp and internal components from oil and dust contaminants. The NEC projector lamp cooling airflow has also been separated from the cooling air flow inside the unit which further deters oil and dust from being drawn in through the panel gaps. Only the NEC projector lamp has a cooling, blower fan.
