There are a wide range of different applications which a projector lamp can be used for.
Projector lamps can be used for business presentations and are commonly used within educational establishments everywhere. In recent years replacement projector lamps have become a necessity for those who are using projectors at home, as home cinema is a sector which over the past few years has grown in popularity.
There are a primary selection of three main types of projector lamps which fit the following projector type: slide, overhead and multimedia.
Overhead projector lamps
Projector lamps in this category are intense light bulbs with flat bases. These projector bulbs are capable of sending images to a specific type of mirror which then enlarges the image and reproduces it to a blank screen. These types of high powered halogen lamps are used as overhead projector lamps. This means that educational and business users can produce sales charts and graphs, along with other information. These projector lamps are the most cost effective to buy.
Slide projector lamps
Useful for viewing photographic slides, these projector lamps have unique slots for 35mm slides. These images are enlarged and projected directly onto a big screen.
Multimedia projector lamps
These projector lamps can produce imagery from film, DVD and video which is enlarged and then projected to a screen. Used for home theatre systems, they are the most expensive of the three projector lamps but will last around 2,000 hours in a multimedia system.
